This collection consists of two unrelated items. The first is Mr. McCrary's written account, 1939, regarding of the early days of Clemson College. He recalls the Fort Hill mansion and surrounding area in the days before the college was first established. He describes witnessing the first dormitory being built by convict labor, Clemson's opening day ceremonies, and his own experiences as a cadet upon entering the school.
