Scope and Contents The Martin Papers consist of a biographical sketch (1998), correspondence (letters and postcards, 1935-1945), a 2003 eulogy of Martin delivered by his son Allen, a transcript of an oral history concerning D-Day recorded by Martin in 1995, and report cards from Clemson College (1937, 1939). Abstract

The Robert Watson Diary provides information on U.S. Army logistics and transport operations as well as on the Ledo (later Stilwell) Road in the China-Burma-India Theater during World War II. Watson served with the 472nd Quartermaster Group and the 3729th Quartermaster Truck Company in India from 1944 to 1945.

The collection contains a printed transcript of his 1944-1945 diary, images of motor operator permits, and printed digital copies of photographs of the Ledo Road.

World War II Experiences is a memoir by Benson C. McWhite, a member of the Clemson Class of 1944 and of the 805th Signal Service Company which can be used to research cadet life at Clemson College just prior and during World War II; military and signals training; and SIGSALY, an encoded radio telephone system used during the war.
