George Washington Carver Collection
This collection provides insight into George Washington Carver’s relationship with young people and on race relations in South Carolina.
The collection consists of articles and newspaper clippings relating to George Washington Carver, three letters from Carver to Kelly E. Traynham, and photographs. Two of the letters encourage Traynham to pursue his studies and develop his talents.
George Washington Carver Letters to William Wallace Fridy
This collection provides insight into George Washington Carver’s relationship with young people, on race relations in South Carolina, and on William Wallace Fridy’s decision to become a Methodist minister.
The collection consists of copies of two letters from George Washington Carver to William Wallace Fridy and a copy of a photograph of Fridy with Carver. One of the letters notes Carver’s desire that Fridy attend Yale; Fridy graduated from Yale Divinity School in 1938.

Strom Thurmond Collection, Gubernatorial Series
The material in the Strom Thurmond Collection Gubernatorial Series includes correspondence (both official and personal), campaign material, speeches and other items documenting Strom Thurmond's term as Governor of South Carolina from 1946-1951. Some of this material was originally part of the holdings of the South Caroliniana Library of The University of South Carolina and the South Carolina Department of Archives and History.
Strom Thurmond Collection, Pinks Series
The Pinks series was the cross-reference file for subject correspondence generated by Senator Strom Thurmond's office for the period 1954-1976 before the introduction of the centralized Correspondence Management System by the Senate Computer Center in 1976. The original cross-reference files consisted of pink colored carbon paper copies-hence, the "Pinks" series.
