Introduction Dr. William Hayne Mills, a Clemson faculty member during the 1930s, was instrumental in obtaining this material from Joseph Wightman Reid, for many years Secretary of the South Carolina State Grange, E. This manuscript collection contains the archives of the League of Women Voters - Clemson Area [LWVCA]. Since 1968, the LWVCA, has served the people of Clemson, Central, Easley, Six Mile, Pickens, Liberty, Dacusville, Seneca, Walhalla, Westminster, Salem, Mountain Rest, Anderson, and Pendleton by encouraging the informed and active participation of citizens in government through education and advocacy.
