Darlington County Agricultural Society Records

Abstract The End of Japan is a memoir by William Burton who served in the maintenance units of the 3rd and 20th Armored Divisions and the ordnance section of headquarters for the 2nd and 8th Armies. The collection is important in that it provides information on early World War II training of U.S. armored units, a view from the headquarters of the 8th Army of the campaigns in New Guinea and Leyte Island in the Philippines, and the occupation of Japan just after the end of the war....

Fifth Regiment, South Carolina Volunteers Ledger

A one volume account book of approximately 100 pages remaining within 259 numbered pages, showing accounts with soldiers and officers of the regiment and others. The ledger has suffered considerable damage and many pages are missing. J. H. Stribling's name appears in the volume for several entries, 1892-1894. Stribling was a member of the first class to enter Clemson.

Remembrances of World War II

The Remembrances of World War II provides information about campaigns in Italy’s northern Appennine Mountains and the Po Valley during World War II through the reminiscences of Ulysses S. Jones who served with the 530th Field Artillery Battalion there. The Remembrances also describes his experiences in Trinidad earlier in the war when he was assigned to the 252nd Coastal Artillery Regiment.
