Ronald H. Walker was born July 25, 1937. He was reared and educated in the Middle and Near East while his father was employed by the United States government and the Ford Foundation. He received his B. A. degree from the University of Arizona, Tucson, in 1960. He and his wife, Ann Lucille Collins, have three daughters. From 1961 to 1964 Walker served in the United States Army and attained Captain's rank. He trained in Armor, Airborne and Special Warfare School. Following his military service he was employed by Allstate Insurance Company and Hudson Company until he became Staff Assistant and later Special Assistant to President Nixon, 1969-1973. In 1973 he was appointed Director of the National Park Service in the Department of Interior. In September 1974, effective January 1, 1975, he resigned and became a consultant to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In 1975, he served as Associate Director and Tournament Director of Lamar Hunt's World Championship Tennis. From 1977-1979 he headed his own consulting company which specialized in all areas of management including political campaign, events, public relations, advertising, marketing and promotion. In 1979 he joined Korn/Ferry International, an executive search firm, as the managing partner in the hospitality/leisure industry. Beginning in 1979 he served as a special consultant to presidential personnel. During 1984 he managed the Republican National Convention and in 1985 served as Chairman of the Committee for the fiftieth American Presidential Inaugural.
