This is an alphabetical index to the correspondents represented in the Tillman Papers Series 2, Incoming Correspondence. The original handwritten index was created after the collection was transferred to Clemson University. In July 2004, staff archivist Shanon Hays revised and retyped the first half of the index (A-L) as an Excel spreadsheet with the help of student assistants Subburayalu Rajaram and Uday Mandhata. In 2009, student assistant Kristi Roberts continued the project, completing data entry through the letter "R". In August 2010, the index was imported into the Archivists' Toolkit software project and data entry was continued by student assistants Rebecca Gnosa and Alisha Newberry. The project was completed in October 2011.

The names are listed alphabetically, followed by the date of the correspondence, followed by the box and folder number where the correspondence will be found.

Please note that the index is still divided in the same sections as the handwritten index which was originally in four binders: A-H, H-L, M-R, and S-Z. Corporate names, if any are specified, appear at the beginning of each section.

Names were entered as written on the handwritten index so inconsistencies in spelling and punctuation are not uncommon. Due to the size of the index, these will only be verified and/or corrected on request. Correspondence interfiled after the creation of the original index may not be included.
