Godfrey, McFaddin, and Blakely Papers

 Collection — Box: 1
Identifier: Mss-0321

Scope and Contents

The collection contains four sections of genealogy compiled by Frank Godfrey, including a record, 1997, and update, 2004, of the descendants of Ansel Godfrey, 1795-1855, one of the descendants of John McFaddin, died 1773, and one of the descendants of John Blakely, 1718-1798. The Godfrey genealogy consists of seven generations, the McFaddin genealogy consists of nine generations, and the Blakely genealogy consists of eight generations. These genealogies primarily begin in South Carolina and then cover later generations that moved to other areas of the U.S.

Papers consist of two folders: one folder containing typed records of the Ansel Godfrey and John McFaddin family genealogies and one folder containing the Ansel and John Blakely family genealogies; the latter folder also contains a photocopied article about Company F, 14th Regiment, South Carolina Volunteers.
