The records contain an account book (1924-1927), club yearbooks (1947-1993), letters, minute books (c.1916, 1947-1975), newspaper articles, photographs, scrapbooks (1947-1995), and scripts. The records describe activities of the club which include an arts and craft festival, a book discussion club, fashion shows, flower arranging, musical presentations and talks by prominent speakers. Two scripts written by Mrs. Melford Wilson (Daisy) entitled "This is your life"--Sarah Margaret Bradley Poole" and "Remember when?" were presented at a 1969 and a 1975 meeting.
The Clemson College Woman's Club held its first regular meeting on February 1, 1916, in which a constitution was adopted. Sometime after 1927, the club lapsed. A meeting was held on February 11, 1947, for the purpose of organizing a women's club, which would foster sociability among the women associated with Clemson College and serve as a social and service auxiliary to the College. In 1964 the name was changed to the Clemson University Woman's Club.
