Reports and blueprints (oversize) from Ladshaw and Ladshaw, Civil and Hydraulic Engineers, to Norris as chairman of the Executive Committee of the Clemson College Board of Trustees, concerning repairs following the failure of a dike to protect bottom land below Cemetery Hill.
Born Nov. 1, 1846. Served in 2nd S.C. Heavy Artillery Regiment 1864-1865; wounded at Bentonville, N.C. Successful farmer, president/treasurer of Norris Cotton Mills and Isaqueena Cotton Mills. President of state Farmer's Alliance and Pendleton Farmer's Society. Served in S.C. Senate 1894-1898 (president protem 1897-1898). Appointed as one of the original life trustees of Clemson College in Clemson's will, served from 1888 until his death. Died Jan. 23, 1905.
