 Collection
Identifier: Mss-0166

Scope and Content Note

The collection consists of 8"x10" and oversize aerial photographs of South Carolina between 1938 and 1975. The 8x10 photos are individual aerial photographs of specific areas in a county. There are several sets of photographs of the Clemson area of Pickens County and a series of views of Highway 11 that runs through the foothills of Oconee, Pickens, Greenville, Spartanburg and Cherokee counties from 1971. There are two types of oversize photographs: 20"x25" composite aerial photographs of South Carolina counties based upon splicing together a number of aerial photographs; and a 25"x25" series of individual aerial photographs for parts of Greenville and Spartanburg counties. The photographs are arranged by size and thereafter alphabetically by county and therein chronologically. Some photographs have been annotated.
