This collection of eight items describes some of the history and property transactions of the Benjamin Lawrence family on Six Mile Creek and Keowee River. It includes indentures (1790) granted by his Excellency Charles Pinckney, Esq., 1789; plats, certificates, and deeds between Robert and Jean Anderson, Levi Peiree, John and Jane Green, Benjamin Robert, James, and Elisha Lawrence, Joseph Reid, William Oliver, Curtis, Thomas Hays, and Thomas Gates, dating from 1790-1818. There is a biographical sketch about Benjamin Lawrence and Thomas Caradine.
Benjamin Lawrence was a Revolutionary War soldier. The Lawrence family property on the Keowee River and Six Mile Creek is now Clemson University forests and experimental lands.
