Scope and Contents
This series consists of 36 videocassettes dating from 1987-1997. The videos are arranged chronologically.
The bulk of the videos document the Billy Graham Crusade held in Columbia, SC in 1987 and Dent’s evangelism trips to Romania in the 1990’s. Other topics include Dent himself, the rise of the Republican Party in the South, former U.S. President Nixon’s funeral in 1994, Dent’s book Right vs. Wrong, and character education, including some videos from a series on that topic made by Dent in 1997. There is also an interview with then U.S. Vice President George Bush and Dent in 1987. In addition to George Bush, Dr. Bill Barton, head of Barton Ministries of Irmo, SC; Dent’s wife Betty and daughter Ginny; Greg Horton, the 1991 President of the South Carolina Baptist Convention; and Dr. Alastair Walker, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Spartanburg, SC appear in the videos.
