Congressional Series, 1900 - 1919
Series Description
The largest of the series documents Lever's work on the Agricultural Committee, legislation which he supported, post office business, war claims, requests for positions in government, and correspondence with constituents. Lever corresponded with many influential government officials in state and national government including Woodrow Wilson, Senator Carter Glass of Virginia, and Herbert Hoover. He also corresponded with the two senators from South Carolina--Benjamin Ryan Tillman and Ellison L. Smith--and Governor Richard I. Manning. There is also a large amount of correspondence with constituents at home in Lexington and Richland counties.
